Mission

The mission of the Next Generation Academy (NGA) is to inspire students to excel academically and

develop critical thinking skills through democratic classrooms and civic and community engagement

aligned to Civic Academies. It is our determination to ignite learners who are prepared for post-

secondary success and understand how to improve communities through better government, voting,

political discussion, and other civic and service learning opportunities.

Vision

The vision of the NGA is to graduate students who are scholastically prepared to become leaders and

trailblazers at the local, state, national, and global levels. Success for our students and graduates is the

burgeoning and blossoming of strong civic leaders who are confident and able to problem solve through

design-thinking strategies around the issues that affect everyday life. The NGA graduate will be

equipped to embark upon a journey that will leave the indelible footprints to a roadmap for a stronger

tomorrow and readiness for college, career, and life.
